December

I'm in the middle of finals and it's taking a massive toll on me. Last year, finals week was not that intense as it is this year. Maybe it's because I'm taking 19 units. Anyways, I've been working harder this year compared to last year. I actually give a shit this year. Although I'm doing alright in school, I haven't had fun in a long time. I haven't seen the beach since week three and haven't been shopping downtown since prolly week two. But I did go to the library for seven weeks in a row after class, in between classes, and on the weekends. Nerd, much?

I'm slowly getting through finals. One final and one paper done, three more finals to go. Last night, Desiree and I did an all nighter at the library, sort of. The library is surprisingly busy at 10pm... Anyways, we went there with our venti coffees, black studies book, and studied/wrote our asses off. We didn't leave until 2am.

Venti coffees + 3am bedtime = didn't sleep until about 5/6am.

Break is slowly coming here. I'm so relieved for it. Three weeks of no school, homework, papers, work, and shit. I'm just going to sleep until Christmas and my birthday. That reminds me, I'm turning 20 in nineteen days. I still don't know how I feel about it, except for feeling hella old. I don't even know what I'm going to do for my birthday. Maybe a city date with a couple special ppl. Idk. We'll see. Hopefully it doesn't rain too.

I'll be home this Saturday morning (12/13) around 11am and I leave on Sunday, Jan 4 in the morning.

November

Yesterday when Obama was elected presidency, I was at Woodstocks getting my free cinnabread with Ricky. My cinnabread was decorated with red, white and blue sprinkles. Everyone in IV was going crazy for Obama, honkings, screaming little Obama-isms, and yelling like mad people. I was really excited that we were a apart of the biggest election ever. I was really excited to see Obama win. While listening to his speech, I got chills down my spine. It was amazing. Yes we can... Yes we did.

Although I'm estastic for the change that's coming in the next four years. I'm really upset that prop 8 is passing. So, I live in the Rainbow House and 50% of the students in the dorm are gay, lesbian or bi. It's just really sad that the people who live under me are going to get their rights taken away. I didn't just vote no for them, I voted no for the people here and there and all of CA. It's sad even with a new black president, we can't accept any gays, lesbians, bisexuals, and transgenders being in love. Having equality should be a right to whoever, not a privilege.
I was talking to one of my friends last night, she voted yes on both prop 8 and 4. She didn't even really understand both props and what it really did. My roommate and I were in disbelief.

October

It's been so fucking hot in SB lately. For the past couple of days it's been in the high 80s to low 90s, ugh, gross. I want my nice and perfect 75 degrees.

Well, week five is right around the corner and it's still hard to believe that I've been here for around a month and a half. My classes are pretty easy and alright, esp for taking 19 units this quarter. I'm not having too much trouble. My midterms started last week and it ends in Nov. Being back in Santa Barbara for this long makes me happy. Being free once again is always nice. Although I like the sense of being on my own, I miss Vallejo and home here and there.

Halloween is next week. I'm hella excited. You have no idea. ;] I'm going to be a cute little sailor girl.

September

So I said my goodbyes to my family and friends back home and I'm finally in Santa Barbara once again. Being back here is really nice and relaxing. I realized how stressful being at home was. Here, I have rules to follow and no curfew to break. Lastly, I can't get in trouble. Don't worry. I'm not doing anything bad.

But within two minutes of being here and seeing Desiree for the first time in three months, we already caused major havoc. We set off the fire alarms in the elevators, twice. On accident, of course. Haha.

Anyways, moving and unpacking is really bothering me. My dorm room is somewhat smaller than last year's. I barely have any room to move around, toss around boxes, and unpack all my clothes and whatever. I'm not done unpacking. Ughh.

Tomorrow, I need to deal with some school stuff. Goodness. I need to pick up some of my books, fix the P.O. boxes and maybe sell my old books. Idk yet.

All that crap on the floor belongs to me. Ughhh.
